Letter to Church 05/28/20

From the Pastor's Desk

June 2020

I have some good news for you! “Jesus Christ is the same
yesterday and today and forever,” (Hebrews 13:8, NASB). We’ve seen so
much change in our lives during this COVID-19 pandemic, but our Lord
never changes! Let’s find comfort in this great truth.

We are doing an abbreviated newsletter this month because we
have had to cancel and postpone so much of what we normally do
because of this national crisis. Vacation Bible School has been cancelled,
but Bro. Ryan is working on offering some form of virtual school online.
We will announce when those videos will be ready.

No definite decision has been made concerning Beech Springs
Kids Camp for this summer. Our summer camp workers are reporting to
work on June 1, but that is all we know for sure. Truthfully, I don’t see
how we can comply with the Arkansas State Department of Health
directives for having camp. We will pass along any information as soon
as we receive it.

As I write this letter Arkansas is currently facing a second peak of
COVID cases and hospitalizations. The governor has said he is not ready
to authorize phase 2 of reopening for our state for a while. This means
we will continue doing as we are on Sundays for the near future. We will
provide two identical worship services each Sunday morning at 9:00
and 10:30 on our campus following the same procedures we
implemented on May 10. I’ve been pleased with the spirit those
attending have shown in abiding by the strict social distancing protocols
we have set forth. I would like to see more of you in these services, but I
do understand why some have chosen not to attend. I hope this season
passes real soon. Meanwhile, our staff is continuing to produce online
services and lessons on Facebook Live and on YouTube. Please check
them out.

Our staff and deacons are always available to assist you in any
way. We continue to make contact with you by telephone, but if a need
arises please let us know so we can pray for you and help you in any
way. We love you and desire to be there for you.

On a personal note, thank you for reaching out to our graduating
seniors during this crazy finish to their high school years. Your generous
gifts and cards have overwhelmed my family for Kathryn! Thank you!
Until we meet again, God bless you!

Bro. Wade
